Had a wonderful evening with Caitlin over dinner. A nice treat to be treated by her.
Discussed potential lease for whole building with the landlord, but stalled when I was told that the upstairs was not on the table. Called her bluff regarding her stance on the planning and zoning dept restrictions to such use.
Damaged artwork and Erik issues still unresolved, but not enough to tip the scales back to yesterdays bad day.

A rainy day was a cliche backdrop for a bad day. Having to excuse myself from the accounting office, I babysat the galllery waiting for UPS to bring bar stools. I made the time worthwhile by also calling in the service guy for the copier. That exercise resulted in a ping pong match of phone calls and emails over unpaid invoices and discrepancies with the copy counter. Tech arrived, but invoice issues left unresolved. Continuing to make the most away from the office, I busied myself with bookkeeping for the salon while also now waiting for a meeting with Erik.
I had low hopes for any meeting he had called.
Topics of that meeting were as appealing as the hair in my burger. I defended myself over my conversation with Jessica regarding the unpaid loan balance, the outcome of which has resulted in jessica's self exile from the gallery. I was angry for being confronted a second time over this issue. After recycling my conversation with jessica for his clarification, i scolded Erik for his lack of professionalism behind the bar. The event which actually triggered the conversation with Jessica in the first place- an embarrassed Jessica wished to take an unprofessionally drunk Erik home, (a state due to a familar bout of passive aggressiveness of Eriks where in exchange for tending bar, he drinks until he can't any longer) which then makes an embarrassed Jason explain that neither of them are owed anything from me. Feeling that as long as mud was flying my way, I flung at him his inability to get the sale prices for work damaged in his curated show, and one without a signed contract by the artist. A point which only escalated the argument to familiar ground- judging his actions against my expectations. His retorts rested on a weak defense of needing more time to complete a show, a dull point due to the fact he had only produced one show in a year and this show was in planning for four months while it was the last two days that the work was printed, mounted, delivered, hung, and titled. Another point, a failed attempt to show me up, rested on the notion that this show was following structure and rules put forth by me. Finding myself getting angry over no ground being covered by refuting these erroneous and weak points (watching Erik order a third to my single IPA), I was concocting my exit. I continued to show examples of his and jessica's naiveté, possible selfishness, and even examples where they had taken things from me without any right. With the exit yet planned, I proved this point by telling him I knew that Jessica had helped herself to the bags she would buy from her friend for me. He answered me through a smirk that perhaps I had never heard of a finders fee. The surprise that he walked into proving my point without being able to see that he had admitted she was guilty of extracting her brand of justice, only made me angry that his wife was one of the wrongly self-entitled people he loves to loathe. With exit plan formed as if I had no input, I rudely abandoned the conversation and leapt from the stool and headed back to the gallery. Assembling the newly delivered stools tasted like dry ice cubes at the end of a leisurely drink on the deck of the Titanic.

Have acquired the other studio space at tehama. Have spent the better part of a week cleaning, painting, (and cleaning) the spaces as well as the loft space above them. Fixed the attic stair that had plagued the use of the area untill now. The eons of dust had become dirt.
From time to time, I imagine that recording the moment as it happens might also dictate that I mention my mood. Optimistic and energetic.
